On Kagome Higurashi's 15th birthday, her life takes an unexpected turn when a demon forcefully drags her into the ancient well at her family's shrine. Transported to feudal Japan, a time filled with demons, Kagome becomes the target of relentless pursuit by these malevolent beings, all coveting an item she unwittingly possesses: the Shikon Jewel, a small orb of immense power.
In the midst of this perilous situation, Kagome crosses paths with Inuyasha, a half-demon youth who initially mistakes her for Kikyou, a shrine maiden he harbors resentment towards. Due to her striking resemblance to Kikyou, Inuyasha harbors a violent dislike for Kagome. However, as they both come to understand the gravity of their shared predicament, Inuyasha overcomes his hostility and extends a helping hand.
Regrettably, a confrontation over the Shikon Jewel leads to the object shattering into fragments, scattering them far and wide. Concerned about the potential catastrophic repercussions, Kagome and Inuyasha embark on a daunting quest to retrieve the shards before they fall into the wrong hands.
