In the 16th century, Florence experiences a flourishing cultural and creative revival during the Renaissance. Arte, a charming young woman from an aristocratic background, aspires to become an artist and contribute to the cultural renewal of the era. However, her dreams take a hit with her father's demise, as he was the sole supporter of her artistic passion. Now, societal expectations dictate that she marry a nobleman and lead the life of a refined housewife, safeguarding her family's honor. Unwilling to embrace this predetermined fate, the determined Arte ventures into the city streets in pursuit of a master artisan who will take her under their wing.
In her search for a mentor, Arte confronts the harsh reality of being shunned as a female artist. The prevailing belief is that women lack the capability for fine craftsmanship, making it challenging for her to find acceptance. Fortunately, a respected artisan named Leo is eventually persuaded to become her mentor, especially since he has no other apprentices. Thus begins Arte's new life, far removed from the comfort of her noble upbringing. As an apprentice, she must not only prove her worth but also navigate through various challenges on the arduous journey to becoming a fully accomplished master artisan.
