Yoichi Isagi was just moments away from securing his high school soccer team's spot in the nationals. However, a split-second choice to pass the ball to a teammate cost him that opportunity. Left bitter, confused, and disappointed, he wonders if the outcome would have been different had he taken the shot himself.

Upon returning home, Isagi receives an unexpected invitation from the Japan Football Union. Through a seemingly arbitrary and biased selection process, he is chosen as one of 300 U-18 strikers for a controversial initiative known as Blue Lock.

The project's ultimate aim is to forge Japan’s next star striker. To achieve this, every participant must compete in a series of solo and team challenges, proving their worth to rise above the rest. Despite his initial reservations, Isagi is driven to climb to the top—even if it means crushing the dreams of 299 fellow strikers along the way.
