Reito Mizuhara, a medical student enrolled at the National Advanced Medical School in Tokyo, contracts a rare and lethal disease known as cellular sclerosis. To undergo treatment, he undergoes cryogenic sleep for five years. When he awakens, he discovers that a global pandemic, triggered by the Male Killer (MK) virus, erupted a year into his slumber. This novel virus exclusively targets males, resulting in the demise of all other men on Earth.
Luckily, Reito and four other men survived the cryosleep, rendering them immune to the virus. As the last surviving men on the planet, their responsibility is to mate with as many women as possible to repopulate the Earth. However, Reito is devoted to his childhood friend and sole love interest, Elisa Tachibana. Shockingly, he learns that she disappeared three years ago. While the other male survivors adapt to their roles in this changed world, Reito decides to pursue Elisa, resisting constant temptation, and delving into an investigation of the mysterious virus.
