Fifteen-year-old Chise Hatori, a Japanese girl, found herself auctioned off for five million pounds to a tall, masked gentleman. Having been abandoned and mocked for her unconventional behavior, she was desperate for a place to call home, willing to belong to any buyer. Despite being chained and uncertain of her future, she overheard cloaked figures gossiping about her rare status as a Sleigh Beggy, yet she paid them no mind. The enigmatic man revealed himself as Elias Ainsworth, a magus, and after a brief confrontation and some magical teleportation, they arrived at Elias' idyllic cottage in rural England. Surrounded by fantastical creatures and welcomed by fairies, this marked the beginning of Chise's journey as Elias' apprentice and purported bride.
