Alcia operates under the governance of "Counts": numerical imprints on individuals' bodies symbolizing various aspects of their lives. These Counts dictate one's societal standing and authority within Alcia, with a person facing banishment to the dreaded Abyss if their Count dwindles to zero.
Hina, a nomadic voyager whose Count measures the distances she traverses, witnesses her mother's descent into the Abyss. Driven by her mother's final wishes, she embarks on a quest to locate the fabled Aces—heroes of a conflict three centuries prior, distinguished by a white star alongside their Count.
During her travels, Hina crosses paths with Licht Bach, an enigmatic figure cloaked in mystery and bearing a negative Count, and Nana, the proprietor of a local tavern. Amidst moments of camaraderie, Hina finds herself ensnared in a skirmish with a military assailant, only to be rescued by Licht, who unveils another Count marked with a white star—a hallmark of a legendary Ace.
Plunderer chronicles Hina's journey alongside fellow denizens of Alcia as they unravel the secrets shrouding their world, the Abyss, and the illustrious Aces of yore.
