In a world where superhuman abilities are the norm, standing out is a challenge—especially when public admiration is reserved for licensed professional heroes who use their Quirks for the greater good.
Kouichi Haimawari once dreamed of becoming a hero, but with a modest Quirk called “Sliding,” which simply lets him glide along the ground, he resigned himself to watching heroes from the sidelines. Still, Kouichi finds fulfillment in small acts of kindness—returning lost belongings and helping the elderly, using his Quirk for good in everyday life.
His quiet routine is disrupted when he’s saved from a street fight by Knuckleduster, a Vigilante—an unlicensed hero working outside the law. Recognizing Kouichi’s potential, Knuckleduster recruits him to investigate a dangerous drug called Trigger, which dangerously amplifies a user’s Quirk while impairing their judgment.
Set before the events of the main series, Vigilante: My Hero Academia Illegals follows Kouichi as he embraces life in the shadows, becoming a Vigilante who fights to keep crime from surfacing, even if it means being labeled an outlaw.
